Ingredients
4 tbsp Oil or Ghee | |
2 Star anise | |
1 stick Cinnamon | |
2 Red onions | |
½ inch Ginger | |
4 cloves garlic (pounded) | |
2 Bay leaves | |
1 tbsp Cumin powder | |
1 tsp Turmeric | |
1 tbsp Garam Masala | |
Salt to taste | |
1 Potato small cube | |
3 longs beans | |
1 cut Cauliflower | |
½ cup Green Peas | |
1 diced Carrot | |
1 chopped Tomato | |
½ Mint Leaves | |
2 cups Basmati rice (soak for 15 minutes) |
Instructions
- In a wok, heat up and add cooking oil
- Add in a cinnamon stick and star anise, fry until fragrant
- Add red onion and fry until slightly translucent
- Add in pounded garlic cloves, bay leaves, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric, salt and stir well
- Add in the potato, carrots, long beans, green peas, cauliflower, chopped tomato. Mix well and add water
- Add in basmati rice, mix well
- Add in mint leaves
- Transfer to a rice cooker and leave to cook for 15-20minutes
