Ingredients

4 tbsp Oil or Ghee
2 Star anise
1 stick Cinnamon
2 Red onions
½ inch Ginger
4 cloves garlic (pounded)
2 Bay leaves
1 tbsp Cumin powder
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tbsp Garam Masala
 Salt to taste
1 Potato small cube
3 longs beans
1 cut Cauliflower
½ cup  Green Peas
1 diced Carrot
1 chopped Tomato
½ Mint Leaves
2 cups Basmati rice (soak for 15 minutes)

Instructions

  1. In a wok, heat up and add cooking oil
  2. Add in a cinnamon stick and star anise, fry until fragrant
  3. Add red onion and fry until slightly translucent
  4. Add in pounded garlic cloves, bay leaves, cumin powder, garam masala, turmeric, salt and stir well
  5. Add in the potato, carrots, long beans, green peas, cauliflower, chopped tomato. Mix well and add water
  6. Add in basmati rice, mix well
  7. Add in mint leaves
  8. Transfer to a rice cooker and leave to cook for 15-20minutes
