Kacang Panjang Belacan With Prawns

This recipe is not only quick and easy but cost efficient too! This dish is so ​sedap​, and if you don’t want the prawns it’s just as delicious without it too.

¾ inch cube Belacan (Prawn Paste)
6-8 Shallots
3 cloves Garlic
3 Red Chillies
100 g Prawns
250 g Long Beans
½ cup Water for blending
1 tsp Salt
¼ cup Vegetable Oi
1 tbsp Oyster sauce
1 tsp Black pepper


  1. Blend chillies, shallots, garlic, belacan and 3 tbsp water to a paste
  2. In a wok, heat up the oil. Add prawns, oyster sauce, pepper and salt to taste. Cook for 15 seconds and set aside
  3. In a clean wok, stir fry blended spice paste for 4-5 minutes until fragrant
  4. Add in long beans and fry on high heat and add salt to taste
  5. Stir fry for about 3-4 minutes until green beans are cooked to slightly tender.
  6. Add in cooked prawns then serve
